Policy Philosophies.

Climate Outlook

We cannot fail to take definitive, consistent, action to protect our precious resources while maintaining the health, safety, and national security for our citizens.

Our policies must support affordable, proven, effective methods that are immediately scalable to conserve natural ecosystems and restore biological integrity to natural spaces we have impacted through human activity.

Fossil Fuels

Although an all-out war on the fossil fuel industry is not warranted, it is hard to avoid the reality that we need to reduce our fossil fuel dependency. Imagining that all our needs could be met by new high-tech windmills, solar panels, and batteries will not replace many essential uses of fossil fuel derived petrochemicals. We need to steadily scale back our use of fossil fuel derived products through tax and financial incentives that benefit all segments of society. These products are essential for modern life. We also need to have a strong reliable cheap source of energy as we seek out new methods and technologies to keep us safe.

Non-essential uses of petrochemical products include single use plastics which did not exist 50 years ago and which are not essential. Each of the 320 million people in the US is responsible for disposing of 300 pounds of single use plastics a year. These are forever garbage. Particularly in the packaging of food and shipping sectors significantly reducing the use of plastics substituting paper or other natural, biodegradable products would be very simple and highly effective.

Energy

We need a strong energy and petrochemical industry to supply the essential uses related to heating and cooling, transportation, manufacturing and infrastructure, fertilizers, and medications that we all need to lead a modern life.

We favor the maintenance and optimization of cheap, reliable energy as new technologies are developed and implemented. We do not favor putting windmills or solar panels in our pristine natural areas. They are not farms. They are industrial complexes which degrade the environment and natural habitats wherever they are installed.

Forestry

We support the forestry industry and replanting of impacted landscapes. The restoration of healthy soils and quality habitat in rural, community, and commercial spaces.

Agriculture

While fertilizers and pesticides are essential to our agricultural sector and are responsible for lifting billions of people out of starvation and malnutrition, their overuse results in fowling of our rivers and destroying beneficial pollinators. Weaning yourself from aerosol containers is a worthwhile personal pursuit.

Government Incentives

We advocate for tax incentives not more regulations incentives to encourage voluntary involvement in conservation and natural climate solutions at the state, county, community, company, and individual levels . We should unite to implement permanently and progressively impactful and beneficial realignments of our activities to restore our natural systems to their pre-industrial effectiveness.
